Ansley grew up in Augusta, Georgia, where she graduated from the Academy of Richmond County. She completed her undergrad studies at Mercer University, earning her BA in Communication and Theater Arts. Before attending the University of Georgia School of Law, Ansley taught school in Kenya, studied French at the Institute de Francais in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France and worked on several State House and Congressional campaigns.
While in law school, Ansley was elected student Vice-President and served on Mock Trial and as a Member of Inn of Court. She was Editor of The Georgia League Report and Secretary of the Blue Key Honor Society.
Ansley began her legal practice as a litigator and took time away from the traditional practice of law to advocate for businesses and individuals on an array of legislative and public policy issues. These opportunities enabled her to serve as a liaison between businesses and their local governmental bodies and to lobby on behalf of the business community for the passage of legislation at the state Capitol. Given the complex, costly and regularly changing nature of laws, regulations and policies, her expertise helps her clients in assuring any legislative or policy changes are in line with their business plan and growth.
Ansley’s practice focuses on a variety of business, employment, governmental affairs and municipal matters. She assists her clients in business formation and the drafting, negotiating, and interpreting of employment contracts, as well as navigating the public policy and legislative issues affecting companies and organizations, both for-profit and non-profit.
Ansley is married to Paul Threlkeld, and they have three children. She and her husband both practice law in Savannah.
